EWI Classes
An Electronic Wind Instrument (EWI) is a modern digital wind instrument that combines the expressive playing techniques of traditional woodwind instruments with the endless possibilities of today's music technology. Using breath control and specialized fingering systems, EWI performers can produce the sounds of flutes, clarinets, saxophones, oboes, bassoons, brass instruments, strings, synthesizers, world instruments, and thousands of other high-quality digital sounds—all from a single instrument.
Unlike a traditional acoustic instrument, an EWI allows musicians to explore a virtually unlimited palette of sounds while developing the same essential musical skills: breath support, tone production, rhythm, music reading, technique, ear training, creativity, and expressive performance.
The EWI is used in a wide variety of musical styles, including classical, jazz, film and television music, pop, rock, electronic music, world music, video game soundtracks, and contemporary concert music. It has become an exciting performance instrument for musicians, composers, educators, and music enthusiasts of all ages.

Mini EWI Program (Elementary Students)
The Mini EWI Program is designed specifically for elementary-age students and provides a fun, engaging introduction to music through the Electronic Wind Instrument (EWI). Students develop musicianship while learning to perform on an instrument that combines traditional wind-playing techniques with modern music technology. Each level concludes with a student performance, allowing students to showcase their progress while building confidence and stage presence.

EWI Program (Grades 8–12 & Adult Learners)
The EWI Program is designed for students in grades 8–12 and adult learners who wish to explore the exciting world of the Electronic Wind Instrument (EWI). Whether you are beginning your musical journey as a teen or adult, or continuing from the Mini EWI Program, this three-level curriculum provides a structured path for developing musicianship, performance skills, creativity, and confidence.
Students who successfully complete Mini EWI Program Levels 1 and 2 will advance directly into EWI Program Level 2. New students in grades 8–12 and adult learners with little or no EWI experience will begin in Level 1. Each level concludes with a student performance, providing an opportunity to celebrate musical growth and achievement.
