Pasha Music Presents
Classical music has had a decline of 30% in the past decade. This is due to a multiple of reasons. The main reason is that music education has been severely cut in secondary education. Without the education in secondary schools, the next generation will not only not learn a musical instrument, but not understand how to listen and learn about classical music. Many in the Gen Z group have an interest in classical music and want to understand it, but they have not been given the access needed to learn about it.
Another reason is the stereotype that Classical Music is for the elite and the rich. This is a misconception. Looking at Classical Music historically, this has not been true. The average person has gone to these concerts. Furthermore, the composers and performers of the music were no different from the average person. This stereotype has been labeled to Classical Music because of the major donors are the upper class and the rich, however that does not mean that the average person can’t attend these concerts. All are welcome. The clothing attire is another misconception. One does not have to wear an elegant evening gown and tuxedo to attend these concerts. Going to these concerts, people wear normal clothes they wear to dinner, movies, and parties. Some even wear jeans with a nice jacket.
Pasha Music Presents is a call to action for the average person to attend and enjoy the amazing music that has been composed in the past couple of hundred years (and music in the present day). In order to encourage to attend these concerts, this production brings smaller ensembles to them in unusual and different locations. These locations can include the following.
- Shopping Malls
- Cafes
- Parks
- Stores and box stores
- And any other locations that the pop culture attends
This series is for them to learn and enjoy about Classical Music. Pasha Music will be producing these small one hour concerts in the near future.
